On a wonderful sunny Tuesday afternoon 7 July 2016, Longines Ambassadors of Elegance Aaron Kwok, and Eddie Peng, together with Chow Yun Fat visited Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, on 5th July for a series of activities to promote the upcoming Hong Kong police blockbuster COLD WAR 2. The integrated resort welcomed the stars for a press conference at Sands Expo & Convention, followed by a red carpet activity at the Skating Rink. They then made their way to the COLD WAR 2 Singapore Gala Premiere at the Sands Theatre.
We are most appreciative that the stars of Cold War 2 graced our shores to share with us intimately on the movie’s behind-the-scenes banter and there were moments of rapturous laughter from jokes made by Chow Yun Fatt and co stars Eddie Peng and Aaron Kwok. The stars were relaxed and comfortably jesting with one another, while exuding effortless fuss free elegance in their smart casual ensembles. They were generous to pose for selfies with the host and media. Meeting them in person was certainly a lifelong memorable treat.
Cold War 2 movie’s storyline this time is even more elaborate and adrenaline-packed, as it involves the entire Hong Kong police force and the judiciary. The two notable directors Longman Leung and Sunny Luk spent four years planning the script and production for the sequel in order to produce yet another gripping film for audiences. The Hong Kong Police Department also volunteered assistance to the development and production of the film.
The elegance of the 70s has been updated to suit modern tastes.
Aaron Kwok returns as Acting Police Commissioner Sean Lau in COLD WAR 2 and can be seen wearing a Longines Heritage 1973. Combining history, tradition and precision, the watch is based on a model created by the brand in 1973.
The Longines Heritage 1973 is immediately eye-catching. The cushion-shaped square case elegantly surrounds the dial, which is thoroughly vintage and true to the original model. The latter, a chronograph produced in 1973 by the brand known by its winged hourglass logo, was fitted with a Longines mechanical chronograph movement, the 30CH. Following in the same noble footsteps, the Longines Heritage 1973 houses the L688 calibre, a column-wheel chronograph movement developed and produced by ETA exclusively for Longines. Automatic in its mechanical core and unique in its uplifted design, the squarish elegant Longines watch would certainly appeal to the watch connoisseur who wishes to attain individuality charm and collect a refreshed heritage design.
Lauded as Asia’s new generation action hero, Eddie Peng has been constantly recognized by prestigious film awards. His dedication to his craft includes spending months getting into a role both mentally and physically. Combined with his can-do spirit and positive attitude, he is a role model for his fans all over Asia. Eddie’s innate class, his presence and his charisma are the perfect incarnation of the values that the famous Swiss watch brand Longines has always upheld, thus making him an ideal Ambassador of Elegance for the brand since 2014.
