Marc by Marc Jacobs Tea Party SS2010@ Mandarin Gallery 9th April 2010

A tea party organized by Club 21 at the newly opened Marc by Marc Jacobs store at Mandarin Gallery. I have loved Marc by MJ ever since the day the first store opened in Ngee Ann City at level 2. Wanting to own something by the famous Marc Jacobs namesake brand, I bought a lambskin messenger bag which was soft and supple back then, which ballooned into collecting a retro shirt and colorful cardigan as well.  I always would make time to have a look at the new arrivals in this store, as their clothes line is unique, retro, outstanding and always oh so chic.

The retro decor of the Marc Jacobs store! A huge florescent MJ sign board in hot pink gets the attention of the crowds passing by Mandarin Gallery, clothes racks are well organised, with a long chair embossed with the Marc Jacobs name on it for customers to try on shoes and the like.

The Mannequins wearing the latest SS2010 outfits. Very interesting retro printed cotton dresses.

Marc Jacobs sets new trends every season! The whole fashion industry follows his lead.

Small Leather goods and non leather small products such as make up cases, bangles, bracelets showcased.

The 2nd floor which houses the Men’s apparel and bags.

My sworn sister and myself trying on the new season’s sunglasses in tortoise shell acetate frame! Dun we look oh so retro chic?

I was wearing: MCQ by Alexander McQueen wrap around Japanese inspired cardigan and dirty white jeans. Tuxedo collar Shirt with multiple vertical pleats by Hong Kong brand: Indu Homme.

Thanks to Club 21 for the invitation and free flow of champagne. I had a great time mingling with fashionable folks  and Marc by MJ staff who were very obliging to show us and allow us to feel the new bags and clothes.

Menu served for the event:
1. Salmon Burger
2. Corn beef bite
3. Cocktail prawn with Pineapple
4. Chocolate figurine with cupcake
5. Mini Sausage
