A great way to end the day would be to unwind and have a bowl of sizzling hot sharksfin soup at the only good sharksfin restaurant in Singapore, Thai Village Restaurant.
As there is a promotion of a newspaper cutting whereby you get a discount of $50 for every $150 spent, we went to have sharksfin soup with crabmeat and abalone. The sharksfin is plentiful in its best form as a whole chunk. A medium size portion is enough for 4 persons.
The crabmeat vermicelli is fantastic as its served in a hot metal pot, smells great of many pieces of fresh garlic and pork belly which makes the vermicelli have its unique slightly oily texture and fragant taste. The crabmeat which falls off the shell is really fresh and sweet.
They also serve lobsters and prawns as well although not as popular as the above two dishes.
